Every single year for the past few years as February rolls around the memories of girls in bikinis, engines roaring, and Tecate a plenty begin to flood my mind. It’s Grand Prix of Long Beach time.

This year was particularly eventful. The first day we lost about most of our day due to heavy rain which was a new condition for me to work in. Even still the Queen (Stephani Costanza) and her court (Adriana Davalos & Kristina Morrison) looked great due in no small part to our MUA Clarisa Ulloa-Martinez and her team from Beauty & Charm Artistry.

Lead by our “mother hen” Loriann Serna of Ah, How Sweet the girls fulfilled their Grand Prix Duties by making appearances, interviews and being present at the Winners Circle for the race celebrations. The girls also made appearances at the Belanova and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts concerts performed on Friday and Saturday evening.

To cap off an eventful weekend full of rain and shine Will Power wins the 38th Grand Prix of Long Beach in one of the most exciting races in recent memory.

I’m elated to hear this news as having that photo included in the 10.10 release was a shining highlight in my career thus far. Not only was my photo installed on millions of machines around the world but I was able to contribute to the Ubuntu project in a way a code-incapable individual could. The venue was packed with patrons and fans cheering on the contestants. Nine girls went on stage to strut their stuff and show why they should be considered for to be the 2012 TMTGPLB Queen. The first five finalists for Thunder Thursday are Michelle Jabbour, Alexis Robledo, Alyssa LeMaster, Jeannie Aguilar, Andrea Lynn (Congratulations!).

Three more prelims are left before the Tecate Thursay Thunder where the Queen and her Court will be crowned.

The tough mudder run is one that consists a long 11.5 mile run across 23 (I think it was 23) obstacles. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to capture some photos of men and women pushing there bodies through extreme temperatures (a huge trash dumpster filled with ice cold water), half pipes that required teamwork to climb, and even electro shock therapy.

Unfortunately I forgot how out of shape I was and keeping up with the action and my friend was no easy task. Enjoy the photos!

I must admit I was pretty nervous trying to walk the thin line between candid and creepy.

This was the couple after she said yes and everyone was headed inside for dinner.
